Mickey’s Trailer is fully functional realization of the trailer from the Walt Disney cartoon ‘Mickey’s Trailer’ from 1938, in which Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are camping in the mountains in a mechanically transformable trailer. This American cartoon sequence has been aired on Swedish state television –as part of a Christmas Special– every Christmas Eve at 3 pm since 1960, and is watched religiously by the majority of the population and has become part of the cultural consciousness.
In order to make the cartoon trailer come to life, it was mechanized with engines, pneumatics, PLC computers, vents, sound systems, etc. This was possible only due to the invaluable assistance of mechanic expert Bruno Tardat.
