Q&Q - 2028 is a project by artist Anna Lundh that collects and shares questions from the public about what the future will be like in 2028, ten years from now.

The first “Q” in the title Q&Q - 2028 references Telex: Q&A, a project organized in 1971 by New York based E.A.T. (Experiments in Art and Technology) as part of the exhibition Utopia and Visions: 1871 – 1981, at Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden. E.A.T. envisioned “a world-wide people-to-people communication link to explore aspects of life in 1981”. It involved the installment of telex machines in four cities around the globe; in Stockholm, New York, Tokyo, and Ahmedabad and the participation of the public who were invited to send questions about 1981 – ten years into the future – to the other sites.

The second “Q” in the title stands for the new questions that will be raised by participants now, in 2018. For the exhibition E.A.T.(Experiments in Art and Technology): Open-ended, at National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea, Anna Lundh presents Q&Q - 2028, which will run for the course the exhibition (May 25, 2018 – September 16, 2018). Participants can submit questions in either English or Korean, gathering a new archive of questions. What will the future be like in 2028?

예술가 안나 룬드가 기획한 <Q&Q - 2028>은 10년 후인 2028년 미래에 대한 사람들의 질문을 모으고 공유하는 프로젝트입니다.

본 프로젝트의 제목 <Q&Q - 2028>의 첫 번째 “Q”는 뉴욕 기반으로 활동한 E.A.T.가 1971년 스 톡홀름 현대미술관에서 열린 《유토피아 & 비전: 1871~1981》전시의 일환으로 실행했던 <텔렉 스 Q&A>프로젝트를 지칭합니다.

E.A.T.는 “1981년의 삶을 탐구하기 위해 사람과 사람 간의 통신으로 전세계를 연결”할 프로젝 트를 구상했고, 이를 위해 전세계 도시 중 4개 도시 - 스톡홀름(스웨덴), 뉴욕(미국), 도쿄(일 본), 아마다바드(인도)에 텔렉스 기계를 각각 설치했습니다. 그리고 사람들에게 10년 후 미래에 대해 궁금한 것들을 서로 다른 도시의 사람들에게 질문하게 했습니다.

제목의 두번째 "Q"는 2018년도 현재, 이 프로젝트의 참가자들이 제시할 새로운 질문들을 의미 합니다. 안나 룬드가 이번 국립현대미술관 서울관에서 개최되는 《예술과 기술의 실험(E.A.T.) : 또 다른 시작》 전에서 새롭게 진행하는 <Q&Q - 2028> 는 2018년 5월 25일부터 9월 16일 까 지의 전시 기간 동안 누구나 이 프로젝트에 참여할 수 있습니다. 참가자들은 “2028년 미래는 어떻게 될 것 같나요?” 에 대한 질문을 영어나 한국어로 입력해 남길 수 있으며, 질문들은 수집 되어 새롭게 아카이브를 구성할 것입니다

이 프로젝트를 위해 애써준 E.A.T. 의 디렉터, 줄리 마틴에게 특별히 감사의 마음을 전합니다. 그녀는 빌리 클루버, 로버트 휘트먼과 함께 <텔렉스: Q&A>(1971) 작품에 참여한 인물이기도 합니다.

이 프로젝트는 앞서 2012년에 뉴욕의 뉴 뮤지엄(The New Museum)으로부터 의뢰 받아 제작 되었으며 이번 전시의 프로젝트는 한국의 국립현대미술관의 지원으로 제작되었습니다.
